Films of Record Clare Johns nominated for British Academy Television Craft Award

April 18 2012

Clare Johns has been nominated for a Craft BAFTA as Best Break-Through Talent for her work on December’s Panorama Special The Truth About Adoption, in which she received her first producer-director credit.

The shortlist is made up of new talent across all TV output - including drama, comedy and factual – so it’s great that a Panorama producer/director should be nominated in this category.

Clare, who was previously the camera/AP on the film’s Panorama predecessor Kids in Care- also made by Films of Record - did nearly all the camerawork on Adoption and it was largely down to her tireless efforts - as well as her passion and care for her subjects - that the children and families involved felt able to speak so movingly about their lives.

The British Academy Television Craft Awards will be held on Sunday 13 May 2012, celebrating the very best in behind the scenes TV talent.
