This film tells the extraordinary story of Tania Head – the woman who became 9/11’s most famous survivor. Her amazing and moving story – of how she escaped from the 78th floor of the South Tower whilst her fiancé was tragically killed in the North Tower – inspired everyone who heard it. Tania's account of that terrible day was so powerful she was even chosen to give the first official tour of Ground Zero to New York’s most important dignitaries, including Rudi Giuliani. As the campaigning president of the 9/11 Survivors Network she befriended politicians, fellow survivors and the grieving families of dead heroes. But in 2007 a monumental flaw was exposed in Tania’s version of events. Tania Head, it turned out, was not at all what she seemed. In fact when the planes hit the Twin Towers on September 11th 2001, Tania wasn't even in New York.

This film tells the true story behind one of the world's most audacious fakers, talking to the people her hoax affected most, including founder members of the 9/11 Survivors Network, the family of the dead hero she claimed saved her life, and the therapist who worked with Tania and other traumatised survivors. We discover that Tania was really Alicia Esteve Head, a rich girl from the Barcelona jet set who, at the time of the World Trade Centre attacks, was enrolling at business school thousands of miles away in Spain.
